What is a raider?
posted on 25-10-2007
A raider is a player who enjoys the high end PvE content of the game and has dedicated his playing time to progress through the raid dungeons.

What are the requirements as a raider?

- ATTENDANCE, you can't call yourself a raider if you're not signing to join enough raids.

- BE PREPARED, this both in terms of consumables and tactical, read up some tactics on the boss and what abilities he
have and what your class job is in the encounter. Also bring some flasks, some weapon oil, elixirs, mana pots, healing pots, food buffs. It might be expensive but it's a great way to increase your DPS / Healing / Survivability

. MODS/ADDONS, Some bosses have special abilities (as in fact it is a general rule that they have one) and can sometimes be hard to notice in the thick of battle. There are mods to help with this and plays sounds and shows with big text in the middle of the screen what is happening and/or what you should do.

At the moment the tools we use for raiding is: CT_Raidassist and DeadlyBossMods (DBM). It is reccommended for healers /mages to get Decursive or an addon that works in a similar fashion.

Why on earth would I want to play raids with 24 other sweaty guys (sorry Mel) as a raider, when I can join raids without being a raider?

Raiders have priorities
- raid invite priority
- 25% RKP bonus (Only in effect when needing items against a non-raider)
- When disenchanted guildbank items are sold raiders will get some gold to compensate their repairbills and occasionally consumables, gold will be handed out every 2 weeks, depending on how wealthy the guildbank is.
- Tanks who are Raider will be the first to get funded for enchants and resistgear.
- You will be the frontline of our raids and will see + beat new content and encounters.

These advantages ONLY follow your raiding character. Your alts will be treated as seperate characters, and will not have any of these advantages, unless we specifiaclly ask you to join on your alt for an encounter.

I want to become a raider, what should I do?

First of all, any raid needs a balanced pool of healers, tanks and DPS'ers, and we are continually evaluating to see if we have enough of each. Check with an officer if there is room for your class in our raiding team. If there is all you have to do is write a little post in the "Raider" topic in our guild event forums. However don't be disheartened if there isn't a spot open for your class at the moment, just by asking you are showing dedication and you might be asked to join us at a later time if there is a spot. Promotions to raider status happens on the same date as the raiders are evaluated.
thnx to Vinnie
